Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down (Tuesday, November 28, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 13:16 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased.

Red chili peppers experienced the highest price increase, rising 2.47% or Rp1,620 to Rp67,130 per kg.

Next, the prices of kembung fish and shallots each increased by 0.86% or Rp290 to Rp33,820 per kg and 0.85% or Rp230 to Rp27,190 per kg, respectively.

The price of tongkol fish increased by Rp170 or 0.5% to Rp34,030 per kg, medium-grain rice increased by Rp50 or 0.38% to Rp13,120 per kg, and premium rice increased by Rp50 or 0.35% to Rp14,280 per kg.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, granulated sugar, simple packaged cooking oil, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of iodized fine salt decreased by 0.67% or Rp80 to Rp11,790 per kg, the lowest price decrease today in Central Java.

The price of granulated sugar was recorded at Rp16,480 per kg, down 0.66%, the price of simple packaged cooking oil decreased to Rp16,180 per liter from Rp16,280 per liter previously, and the price of shallots decreased by Rp120 to Rp32,400 per kg.
