Today's Food Prices in East Java: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (8/8/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include garlic bulbs, medium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, red chilies, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, shallots, curly red chilies, bulk wheat flour, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase of Rp280 (3.05%) to Rp9,470 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the steepest price drop of Rp690 (13.66%) to Rp4,360 per kg.

9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,270 per kg (up 0.42%)
