Today's Food Prices March 05 in Central Java: Bird's Eye Chili and Beef Prices Rise

Several food commodity prices in Central Java today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (March 5, 2026) at 15:17 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 6 decreased.

Commodities with price increases include medium rice, rump beef, bulk palm cooking oil, large red chili, and bulk granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as shallots, imported soybeans, broiler chicken meat, Honan garlic, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili prices jumped the highest by Rp786 (0.96%) to Rp82,342 per kg. As for shallot prices, they fell the most by Rp153 (0.38%) to Rp39,690 per kg.

8. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,514 per kg (down 0.08%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,775 per liter (up 0.09%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp17,956 per liter (up 0.23%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp16,980 per kg (up 0.03%)
