Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, the processing industry sector is the leading one.
In first place is the processing industry sector. In 2024, this sector contributed the largest GRDP value of Rp29.19 million. This nominal figure grew by 33.15%.
In second place is the mining and quarrying sector, which grew by 31.96% to Rp19.01 million, while the construction sector experienced negative growth of -18.27% to Rp1.56 million.

Finally, the fifth largest GRDP contributor in Teluk Bintuni Regency is the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector with a value of Rp999.84 thousand million. According to BPS, this sector grew by 1.03% over the past year from the previous recorded figure of Rp981.72 thousand million.
