Sumatera Barat Food Prices on Friday (April 18th): Chili Prices Rise, Red Chilies Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (18/4/2025) at 16.35 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, dry soybean (import), red chili peppers, Minyakita, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, farmer-level corn, granulated salt, red onions, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of milkfish increased the most, by Rp5,000 (12.5%) to Rp45,000 per kg. The price of bulk wheat flour decreased the most sharply, by Rp227 (2.4%) to Rp9,235 per kg.
