The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in Central Maluku Regency reached IDR 11.45 million in 2024. The GRDP of this regency grew by 5.28% compared to the previous year's IDR 10.76 million.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the economic growth in this region is higher. Previously, the post-pandemic growth at the end of 2021 was recorded at 3.32%.

According to BPS publications, with a total population of 431.31 thousand people, the per capita GRDP in this region was recorded at IDR 25,983 thousand per capita per year. This per capita GRDP ranks 458th nationally.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector is the leading one.
The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector in Central Maluku Regency is the flagship sector and contributed the largest share of GRDP in 2024, with a value of IDR 2.72 million. This GRDP grew by 2.96% compared to the previous year's IDR 2.61 million.
Then the government administration, defense and compulsory social security sector grew by 6.34% to IDR 2.3 million, followed by the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 8.72% to IDR 1.66 million this year.

The fifth largest contributing sector is the education services sector with a GRDP of IDR 1.13 million. This sector grew by 5.66% compared to the previous year's achievement of IDR 1.07 million.
GRDP Distribution in Central Maluku Regency in 2024
In terms of distribution share, the main sector contributing the largest GRDP growth in Central Maluku Regency is the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector with a contribution of 23.37%. The other top five sectors are government administration, defense and compulsory social security sector, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, processing industry sector, and education services sector.
Meanwhile, the sectors with the smallest distribution are the Accommodation and Food Service Activities Sector, Mining and Quarrying Sector, Real Estate Sector, Water Supply; Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities Sector, and Electricity and Gas Supply Sector.
