Latest Food Prices in East Java: Salt Up, Chilies Down (Tuesday, April 2, 2024)

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (2/4/2024) at 09.14 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), fine iodized salt, chicken eggs, simple packaged cooking oil, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, farmer-level corn, garlic bulbs, granulated sugar, and Indian mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt experienced the highest price increase of Rp780 (8.22%) to Rp10,270 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the lowest price decrease of Rp560 (8.21%) to Rp6,260 per kg.

9. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,380 per kg (up 1.54%)
10. Red Chili Peppers: Rp27,130 per kg (down 2.06%)
