Latest Food Prices in East Java: Red Chili Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (18/4/2025) at 14.04 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 10 commodities increased in price and 13 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, farmer-level corn, bulk cooking oil, dry soybean (import), and large red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, red chili peppers, medium rice, curly red chilies, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp572 (1.62%) to Rp35,883 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp3,303 (4.8%) to Rp65,538 per kg.

8. Milkfish: Rp32,632 per kg (down 1.0%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,657 per kg (down 0.52%)
10. Broiler Chicken: Rp30,165 per kg (down 1.92%)
