South Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall (Friday, March 8, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (8/3/2024) at 09.38 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), broiler chicken meat, simple packaged cooking oil, garlic cloves, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, bulk cooking oil, dry soybean seeds (import), premium rice, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase of IDR 530 (4.65%) to IDR 11,920 per kg. Medium rice had the lowest price decrease of IDR 580 (4.31%) to IDR 12,870 per kg.

5. Garlic Cloves: IDR 37,150 per kg (up 0.57%)
6. Red Onions: IDR 33,930 per kg (down 0.32%)
7. Mackerel Fish: IDR 32,270 per kg (up 2.71%)
8. Chicken Eggs: IDR 30,580 per kg (up 2.86%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: IDR 27,510 per kg (down 1.22%)
10. Milkfish: IDR 26,870 per kg (down 2.15%)
