West Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down (Sunday, December 31, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (31/12/2023) at 08.42 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), broiler chicken meat, red chili peppers, mackerel, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, shallots, farmer-level corn, chicken eggs, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp31,530 (81.96%) to Rp70,000 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the lowest price decrease, falling Rp6,410 (17.61%) to Rp30,000 per kg.

5. Garlic Bulbs: Rp38,990 per kg (up 7.29%)
6. Milkfish: Rp35,000 per kg (up 7.69%)
7. Shallots: Rp32,860 per kg (down 3.58%)
8. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp32,560 per kg (up 9.04%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (down 17.61%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,960 per kg (down 0.18%)
11. Premium Rice: Rp17,200 per kg (up 3.3%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp16,970 per kg (down 1.22%)
