Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Forestry, monitoring over the past 24 hours detected 14,172 hotspots across Indonesia. This is an increase of 4,661 hotspots compared to the previous period.

Hotspot confidence is split into 3 tiers: 0-29 (low), 30-79 (medium), 80-100 (high). Higher confidence correlates with greater likelihood of active forest/land fire.
Most hotspots recorded: South Papua (4,808), Central Kalimantan (2,492), South Sumatra (1,794). Followed by South Kalimantan (649), East Kalimantan (617), Maluku (487), Jambi (416).
Hotspots are surface temperature anomalies, not direct fire counts. However clustered hotspots are the most reliable remote sensing method for large scale wildfire monitoring.
