Food Consumption Inadequacy Rate of Mesuji Residents Rises 10.25% in 2024

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of food inadequacy (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Mesuji Regency, Lampung was 10.25% in 2024.

This figure increased by 1.5% from the previous year's 8.75%, while in the last 5 years, it rose by 1.18%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Mesuji Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 10.25% of the total population of Mesuji Regency consumes food but has insufficient energy.
