Food Consumption Deficiency Rate in Sabu Raijua Increased by 10.63% in 2023

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Sabu Raijua Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, was 10.63% in 2023.

This figure increased by 0.48% from the previous year's 10.15%, while it decreased by 4.43% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Sabu Raijua Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the population in Sabu Raijua Regency who consume food but whose energy needs are insufficient, does not reach 10.63% of the total population.
