Mempawah Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Drops 14.89% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan reached 14.89% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.3% from the previous year's 15.19%, while over the last 5 years it has dropped by 5.82%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Mempawah Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that the number of Mempawah Regency residents who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs does not reach 14.89% of the total population.
