Top 10 Countries with the Highest Reports of Child Sexual Abuse Content in 2022

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), a UK-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), reported that 255,571 pieces of content related to child sexual abuse were found online worldwide in 2022.

The reported content originated from websites displaying images and videos of child sexual abuse.

By region, the Netherlands had the highest number of reported child sexual abuse content globally, accounting for 32% of all globally distributed related content.

The United States was second, with 37,285 reports of child sexual abuse content, representing 15% of the total reports.

Slovakia followed with 31,836 reports. These two countries each accounted for 15% and 12% of the total child sexual abuse content found by the IWF, respectively.

After confirming received reports, the IWF traces the related URLs to the server location where the content is hosted.

The IWF also collaborates with other NGOs, governments and local services, and international organizations such as Europol and Interpol to remove this content.
