Life expectancy in Indonesia is highest in Yogyakarta. According to the 2016 Socioeconomic Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, life expectancy for men in this province reaches 73 years, while for women it reaches 76 years.
Besides Yogyakarta, there are 15 other provinces with a life expectancy above 70 years: East Kalimantan, Central Java, North Kalimantan, West Java, Jakarta, Bali, North Sulawesi, Riau, Jambi, East Java, Southeast Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, Bangka Belitung Islands, and Lampung.
Nationally, the average life expectancy is 71 years. The province with the lowest average life expectancy is West Sulawesi, at 64 years.
