Palangkaraya City Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Figure Rises 6.44% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Palangkaraya City, Central Kalimantan reached 6.44% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.38% from the previous year's 6.06%, while over the last 5 years it decreased by 2.41%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that Palangkaraya City's PoU is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that Palangkaraya City residents who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for less than 6.44% of the total population.

Compared to the other 13 regencies/cities in Central Kalimantan Province, Palangkaraya City's PoU ranks 6th. The regions with the lowest PoU (top ranks) are Gunung Mas Regency (4.46%) and the highest (last rank) is Kapuas Regency (15.41%).
