Between October 7 and November 1, 2023, over 8,900 Palestinians were killed in the war between Israel and Hamas militants.
The highest number of Palestinian casualties was in the Gaza Strip, with 8,805 deaths and 22,240 injuries. In the West Bank, there were 128 deaths and 2,274 injuries.
During the same period, the total number of Israeli casualties was approximately 1,416 deaths and 5,413 injuries.
This data was compiled by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) from the Gaza Ministry of Health and official statements from the Israeli government.
In addition to the deaths and injuries, Israel has arrested more than a thousand Palestinians during this war.
"On the night of October 31-November 1, Israeli forces arrested at least 70 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, bringing the total number of Palestinians arrested since October 7 to at least 1,830, according to Palestinian sources," OCHA stated in its report on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
"The UN Human Rights Office has received consistent and credible reports of widespread cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment of detainees. Two Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli custody since October 7," it continued.
On the other hand, the Hamas militant group is still holding hundreds of Israelis hostage. Some have reportedly died as a result of Israeli military strikes on Gaza.
"According to Israeli authorities, 240 people are being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, including Israeli citizens and foreign nationals. Media reports indicate that approximately 30 hostages are children. So far, 4 civilian hostages have been released by Hamas, and 1 female Israeli soldier was rescued by Israeli forces," OCHA reported.
"On November 1, Hamas claimed that 7 hostages had been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Jabalia refugee camp. This adds to their previous claim that 50 other hostages had been killed in similar circumstances," it continued.
