Between October 7 and 30, 2023, the war between Israel and Hamas militants killed over 8,400 Palestinians.
The highest number of Palestinian casualties was in the Gaza Strip, with 8,309 deaths and 21,048 injuries. In the West Bank, there were 121 deaths and 2,208 injuries.
As of Monday, October 30, 2023, the total number of Israeli deaths was approximately 1,402. There have been no reports of new deaths since the previous week (October 23), while the number of injured increased by two to 5,447.
This data was compiled by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) from the Gaza Ministry of Health and official Israeli government statements.
Beyond these figures, OCHA reports approximately 1,950 Palestinians in Gaza as missing, about 1,050 of whom are children. These missing individuals are believed to be trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
Surviving Palestinians in Gaza are enduring extremely dire conditions. This was stated by Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, the United Nations agency serving Palestinian refugees.
"More than 670,000 refugees are now crammed into overcrowded UNRWA schools and buildings. They are living in appalling and unsanitary conditions, with limited food and water, sleeping on the floor without mattresses, or outdoors in the open," said Philippe Lazzarini in a press release on Monday, October 30, 2023.
"Hunger and despair are turning into anger towards the international community, and in Gaza, the international community is better known as UNRWA," he continued.
Dozens of countries have pledged humanitarian aid to Palestinians, totaling Rp5 trillion (approximately USD 325 million). However, access to this aid remains severely restricted by Israel.
"On October 30, 2023, a total of 26 trucks carrying humanitarian supplies entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing (the Gaza-Egypt border). While there has been an increase in aid entering Gaza in the last two days, the current aid is only a fraction of what is needed to prevent a worsening of the already dire humanitarian situation, including civil unrest," OCHA stated on Monday, October 30, 2023.
