Children or family members are the primary source of financial support for most elderly people (elderly) in Indonesia.

Only a small percentage of the elderly met their financial needs from government assistance or old-age insurance.

This survey was conducted from May 9-22, 2022, involving 816 respondents spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. Respondents consisted of 57.2% women and 42.8% men.

Respondents were divided into five age categories: 60-65 years (64.2%), 66-70 years (20.1%), 71-75 years (9.6%), 76-80 years (3.7%), and >80 years (2.5%).
