Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in North Gorontalo Rises 6.98% in the Last 5 Years

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo was 21.04% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.52% from the previous year's 20.52%, while in the last 5 years it has risen by 6.98%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in North Gorontalo Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of North Gorontalo Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for up to 21.04% of the total population.
