Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours shows 1,034 hotspots have been detected across Indonesia. This figure has increased by 67 hotspots compared to the previous period.

The data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed at 11:53 WIB on Tuesday (7/7/2026). Out of the total detected hotspots: 19 have high confidence level, 976 are medium confidence, and 39 are low confidence.

Hotspot confidence level is divided into 3 scales: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher confidence level indicates greater probability of forest and land fires occurring in the area.

The highest number of hotspots was recorded in East Kalimantan (114 points), followed by Aceh (111) and East Nusa Tenggara (111). South Kalimantan registered 89 hotspots, South Sumatra 71, while East Java and West Nusa Tenggara recorded 66 and 62 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are geographic coordinates showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; they do not directly equal fire incident counts.

However, dense clustered hotspots in an area indicate active forest and land fires. Satellite remote sensing hotspot data remains the most effective method for monitoring wildfires over large territories.
