Various survey institutions conducted surveys related to Indonesia's joining the Board of Peace (BoP) established by US President Donald Trump in February-March 2026.
From the three surveys conducted, all showed that the majority of Indonesians do not agree with their country joining the BoP.
The first survey was released by Media Survei Nasional (Median) on February 23, 2026. In its survey, 78.8% of Indonesians were aware of the existence of the BoP.
The second survey was released by Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI), Indikator Politik Indonesia, and Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting (SMRC) on April 2, 2026.
The third survey was released by Poltracking Indonesia on April 13, 2026. In its survey, 33.3% of respondents had heard of Indonesia joining the BoP.
Here are the details of the survey results on public perception of Indonesia joining the BoP:
Median
- Disagree: 50.4% (strongly disagree 19.7% and disagree 30.7%)
- Agree: 34.8% (strongly agree 14.1% and agree 20.7%)
The Median survey took place from February 10-14, 2026 online with a target of 1,200 respondents aged at least 17 years. Median did not include the survey's margin of error.
LSI, Indikator, and SMRC
- Disagree: 50.9% (strongly disagree 9.4% and disagree 41.5%)
- Agree: 26.1% (strongly agree 4.5% and agree 21.6%)
The LSI, Indikator, and SMRC survey was conducted from March 12-31, 2026 face-to-face and via telephone with 1,066 respondents aged at least 17 years, and a margin of error of 6%.
Poltracking Indonesia
- Disagree: 40.7% (strongly disagree 17.6% and somewhat disagree 23.1%)
- Agree: 13.7% (strongly agree 1.5% and somewhat agree 12.2%)
The Poltracking survey was conducted face-to-face from March 2-8, 2026 with 1,220 respondents aged at least 17 years, and a margin of error of around 2.9%.
