A JakPat survey collected data on the ideal wedding budget among Indonesian millennials and Gen Z.

Majority, or 41% of young respondents, considered an ideal wedding budget to be between Rp50 million and Rp100 million. 32% believed it should be lower, under Rp50 million.

Furthermore, 16% of respondents had an ideal budget of Rp100 million to Rp250 million, and 7% between Rp250 million and Rp500 million. Only 4% of respondents had an ideal budget exceeding Rp500 million.

Additionally, JakPat found that 45% of respondents used personal savings as their primary source of wedding funds.

Others opted for joint savings (40%), funds from their partner (7%), and financial assistance from parents (6%).

The survey involved 907 single respondents, narrowed down to 798 respondents with wedding plans. The total respondents comprised 52% male and 48% female.

Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (39%), Jabodetabek (31%), and outside Java (30%). Respondents were from the millennial generation (29-44 years old) at 49% and Gen Z (15-28 years old) at 51%.

The online survey was conducted via the Jakpat application from June 26-30, 2025, with a margin of error below 5%.
