Java Provinces with the Highest Number of Households as of June 2022

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs recorded 51.8 million household heads (KK) out of a total population of 154.34 million in the Java region in June 2022. This means an average of 2.98 people per household.

West Java has the highest number of households in the Java region, with 16.28 million. With a population of 48.64 million, the average is 2.99 people per household.

East Java is next with 14.09 million households. With a population of 41.14 million, the average is 2.92 people per household.

Central Java follows with 12.63 million households and an average of 2.97 people per household. Banten has 3.86 million households with an average of 3.14 people per household, DKI Jakarta has 3.67 million households with an average of 3.06 people per household, and Yogyakarta Special Region has 1.27 million households with an average of 2.9 people per household.

The following are population densities in the Java region in June 2022:

* West Java: 1,313 people per km²
* East Java: 857 people per km²
* Central Java: 1,092 people per km²
* Banten: 1,299 people per km²
* DKI Jakarta: 17,013 people per km²
* Yogyakarta Special Region: 1,159 people per km²
