Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in East Belitung Increased by 2.89% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, was 10.32% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 1.92% from the previous year's 12.24%, while over the last 5 years, it increased by 2.89%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in East Belitung Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.
