Food Insecurity Prevalence in Rembang Reaches 10.15% in 2023

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Rembang Regency, Central Java, was 10.15% in 2023.

This figure is down 1.07% from the previous year's 11.22%, and down 1.71% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Rembang Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes insufficient food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Rembang Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs does not reach 10.15% of the total population.
