West Java Has the Highest Number of Infants Nationally

Based on data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the number of toddlers in Indonesia reaches 18.76 million or approximately 6.89% of the total population.

Children aged 0-4 years in West Java number 3.57 million, or approximately 19.02% of the national total of toddlers. This figure places the province first in terms of the highest number of toddlers compared to other provinces in Indonesia.

The next province with the highest number of children aged 0-4 years is Central Java, reaching 2.56 million (13.66%). This is followed by East Java with 2.44 million (13.02%), North Sumatra with 952,670 (5.08%), and Banten with 931,150 (4.96%).

Then, DKI Jakarta has 824,280 toddlers (4.39%). Following this is Lampung with 628,530 children aged 0-4 years (3.35%), South Sulawesi with 624,970 (3.33%), and South Sumatra and Aceh with 618,110 (3.29%) and 478,910 (2.55%) respectively.

The toddler age (0-4 years) is a golden period for child development. During this period, toddlers need balanced nutrition to ensure they grow up healthy and intelligent.
