Food Insecurity Prevalence in Poso Reaches 7.36% in 2023

Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, was 7.36% in 2023.

This figure is down 1.62% from the previous year's 8.98%, while it has increased by 1.84% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Poso Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Poso Regency who consume food but whose energy needs are insufficient does not reach 7.36% of the total population.
