The ILO also recorded that illegal profits from forced labor this year increased by approximately US$64 billion from 2014. This is due to a global increase in the number of forced laborers.

There were 18.7 million forced laborers worldwide in 2014. This number increased by 27% to 23.7 million in 2024.
