According to a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the conflict between Palestine and Israel continues to this day.
From the beginning of this year until March 2023, 83 Palestinian civilians have died as a result of the conflict, while 13 Israelis have been killed.
Cumulatively, from 2008 to the present, a total of 6,263 Palestinians have died, while the total number of Israeli deaths is 292.
During the same period, a total of 146,347 Palestinians were injured, and a total of 6,143 Israelis were injured.
The casualties recorded here are those who died or were injured in demonstrations that resulted in clashes, border disputes, military operations, and other events related to the conflict between the two countries.
The Indonesian government, meanwhile, is aligned with Palestine. This stance is stated, among other places, in Chapter X of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regulation Number 3 of 2019, which reads:
_"To date, Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, and opposes Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory and people; therefore, Indonesia rejects all forms of official relations with Israel."_
The regulation also stipulates that the Indonesian government must observe a number of procedures in dealing with Israel, namely:
* There are no official relations between the Indonesian government at any level with Israel, including in correspondence using official letterheads;
* No official reception of Israeli delegations at official venues;
* The display/use of flags, emblems, and other attributes, as well as the playing of the Israeli national anthem, is not permitted in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia;
* The presence of Israelis does not imply political recognition of Israel;
* Visits by Israeli citizens to Indonesia can only be made using ordinary passports; and
* Visa issuance authorization for Israeli citizens is carried out by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, c.q. Directorate General of Immigration. Visas are issued in the form of an affidavit through the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore or the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok.
