Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 149 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Tuesday, November 22, 2022, shows a national average of 132.81 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Klaten (960 people), Gresik (954 people), Malang (903 people), Pekanbaru City (885 people), and Kediri (820 people).
Klaten ranks first, with 960 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 18.23 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Gresik, where 954 people were tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 17.4 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week.
Following this, Malang recorded 903 tests per week, Pekanbaru City 885, and Kediri 820 Covid-19 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 130 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 212 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests per week include Pekanbaru City, Batam City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 885, 803, and 778 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
