Data as of Wednesday, November 16, 2022, shows the national average examination is recorded at 146.21 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Kediri City, Mojokerto City, Pasuruan City, Bantul Regency, and Sumenep Regency, with specimen numbers per week of 986, 963, 962, 920, and 920 respectively.
Kediri City ranks first. With a population of 292,930, the number of specimens examined here is recorded at 986 per week. The latest positive rate is 18.58 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mojokerto City. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 963 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 17.75 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Then, Pasuruan City recorded 962 specimens per week, Bantul Regency recorded 920 specimens per week, and Sumenep Regency also recorded 920 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 169 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 133 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Tarakan City, Metro City, and Padang City, with 893, 864, and 859 specimens respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
