According to the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) by the Ministry of Health, the prevalence of stunting among toddlers in North Maluku reached 26.1% in 2022. This province ranked 12th highest nationally.

Central Halmahera Regency is second, at 32.2%, followed by South Halmahera Regency in third place at 31.4%.
Ternate City has the lowest stunting prevalence in North Maluku, at only 17.7%, followed by Tidore Islands City with a stunting prevalence of 19.1%.
