The top five, ranked by the number of people tested per week, are: Timor Tengah Selatan (996 people), Trenggalek (990 people), Sorong City (966 people), Ambon City (959 people), and Blitar City (954 people).
Timor Tengah Selatan ranks first. With a population of 473,690, 996 people were tested in the last week. The latest positive rate is 2.31 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Trenggalek. With a population of 700,720, 990 people were tested in the last week. The positive rate was 6.06 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Sorong City recorded 966 tests per week; Ambon City, with a population of 484,690, recorded 959 tests per week; and Blitar City recorded 954 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 129 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 242 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests in the last week include Timor Tengah Selatan (996 people), Sorong City (966 people), and Ambon City (959 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
