The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 157 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case rate per 100,000 people above the national average, currently recorded at 82.42 per 100,000 people per week (data as of Wednesday, March 2, 2022).
The five districts/cities with the highest number of confirmed positive cases, exceeding 531.66 per 100,000 people per week, are Teluk Bintuni, Yogyakarta City, Balikpapan City, Kutai Barat, and Bontang City, with respective values of 715.98, 650.38, 643.17, 535.73, and 531.66 per 100,000 people per week.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java is decreasing. A higher than previous daily number of confirmed positive cases was recorded in 107 districts/cities, while 278 districts/cities recorded a lower number of confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest number of confirmed positive cases include Teluk Bintuni, Balikpapan City, and Kutai Barat, with respective confirmed positive case rates of 715.98, 643.17, and 535.73 per 100,000 people per week.
The government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
