Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 120 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 60.15 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Balikpapan, East Jakarta, and Badung, with percentages of 904.72 percent, 827.04 percent, 620.96 percent, 551.27 percent, and 537.64 percent, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first. The weekly testing percentage there was recorded at 904.72 percent. The latest positive rate is 6.87 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Central Jakarta. The population of this region is recorded at 913,720 people. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage was 827.04 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.79 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Then, Balikpapan recorded a testing percentage of 620.96 percent. East Jakarta recorded a weekly testing percentage of 551.27 percent, and Badung, with a population of 727,950 people, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 537.64 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 186 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher daily weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 193 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan, Badung, and Teluk Wondama, with weekly testing percentages of 620.96 percent, 537.64 percent, and 462.86 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
