The top five, starting from the highest, are Kutai Kartanegara, Jember, Samarinda City, Jayapura City, and Sukabumi, with 999, 998, 992, 970, and 936 tests per week respectively.
Kutai Kartanegara ranks first. With a population of 792,740, the number of people tested in the last week was 999 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.1 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Jember. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 998 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 3.61 percent, also higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Covid-19 tests in Samarinda City in the last week totaled 992 per week, Jayapura City recorded 970 tests per week, and Sukabumi recorded 936 tests per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 166 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 203 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests per week include Kutai Kartanegara, Samarinda City, and Jayapura City, with 999, 992, and 970 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
