Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 147 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, November 25, 2022, shows a national average of 131.22 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Banyumas, Makassar City, Gresik, Malang, and Indramayu, with weekly test numbers of 995, 952, 897, 894, and 848 respectively.
Banyumas ranks first, with 995 tests conducted last week. The latest positive rate is 9.85 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Makassar City. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, 952 tests were conducted last week. The positive rate in this region is 10.82 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, Gresik recorded 897 tests last week, Malang 894, and Indramayu 848.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 148 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 196 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests last week include Makassar City, Pekanbaru City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 952, 840, and 812 tests respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
