COVID-19 survivors typically first inform their closest contacts about their status, ranging from partners to neighbors.

Lapor Covid-19, in collaboration with the Social Intervention Interest Group of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia (UI), conducted a survey of COVID-19 survivors. The results showed that partners were the first to receive news of the survivors' status. At least 53.6% of respondents stated that they first informed their boyfriend/girlfriend, fiancé(e), husband, or wife.

Ironically, the community that eventually learns of the COVID-19 survivors' status often stigmatizes them. Many survivors have been gossiped about, ostracized, and even left without assistance.

The survey, a collaboration between Lapor Covid-19 and the Social Intervention Interest Group of the Faculty of Psychology, UI, collected responses from 181 respondents. These respondents were aged 18 and above and had been or were currently exposed to COVID-19, thus having suspected, probable, or positive status. 56% of the respondents were healthcare workers.

The government continues to urge the public to diligently implement the 3M movement (washing hands with soap, wearing masks, and maintaining distance) to stop the transmission of the coronavirus.
