The Covid-19 vaccination campaign isn't solely driven by the Indonesian government; Indonesian citizens are actively involved. This is evident from a survey conducted by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with Change.org and Kawal Covid-19, revealing that 86.6% of respondents encouraged their family and relatives to get the coronavirus vaccine.
Specifically, 44% of respondents reported recommending vaccination to their family and relatives almost daily. 42.6% said they recommended it occasionally, while only 13% never encouraged vaccination.
Several reasons motivated this public advocacy for vaccination. The majority (78.7%) of respondents aimed to protect their loved ones from the deadly virus.
70.1% of respondents encouraged vaccination to resume normal activities. 37.5% did so because their loved ones were elderly.
Furthermore, 34.6% of respondents encouraged vaccination because their loved ones still worked from the office daily. 18.6% did so due to the need for proof of vaccination for travel.
4.1% of respondents encouraged vaccination because their company provided it, while 2% cited other reasons.
This online survey involved 8,299 respondents from August 6th to 22nd, 2021. Of these, 7,188 respondents encouraged their family and relatives to get vaccinated.
