Average Schooling Duration of Wakatobi Residents Rises to 8.54 Years

The average schooling duration (ASD) of residents aged 25 and over in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi reached 8.54 years in 2025.

Quoting data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ASD of residents in this region was below the Southeast Sulawesi provincial average of 9.56 years in 2025.

Wakatobi's resident ASD increased by 0.01 years (0.12%) compared to the previous year, which was 8.53 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the ASD has increased by 0.6 years (7.56%).

This ASD indicates that the average Wakatobi resident only attended school up to the 8th grade level. However, this ASD is still below the national ASD average of 9.07 years in 2025.

When compared to the other 16 regencies/cities in Southeast Sulawesi Province, Wakatobi's ASD ranks 13th. The other regions in the province with the highest ASD are Kendari City (12.56 years), while the lowest ASD is in Central Buton Regency (7.37 years).
