The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 151 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 2.24 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with the highest confirmed positive cases, exceeding 23.51 per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with respective values of 29.99, 29.53, 28.15, 24.38, and 23.51 per 100,000 population/week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. 74 districts/cities recorded a higher daily number of confirmed positive cases than before, while 35 districts/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang, Mimika, and Belu, with respective confirmed positive case rates of 18.95, 15.33, and 14.8 per 100,000 population/week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
