Several districts/cities in West Papua Province still record quite low vaccination rates compared to other regions. Some of these districts/cities include Pegunungan Arfak Regency, Maybrat Regency, and Tambrauw Regency.
As of Saturday, January 29, 2022, these three regencies had only completed 5,818 first doses of the vaccine out of the expected target of 81,996 vaccine recipients.
Pegunungan Arfak Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of yesterday, this region has only recorded 1% vaccination. This is the lowest compared to the other 13 districts/cities. The vaccination program in this regency targets 29,822 participants. The average vaccination rate last week in this region was 1 participant. The available vaccine stock is 70 doses.
Next is Maybrat Regency, ranked second lowest. With a vaccination target of 32,163 participants, only 7% or 2,510 participants have been vaccinated. The average vaccination rate last week in this region was nine participants. The available vaccine stock is 2,190 doses.
Then there is Tambrauw Regency, ranked third lowest. With a vaccination target of 20,011 participants, only 15.1% or 3,012 participants have been vaccinated. The average vaccination rate last week in this region was seven participants. The available vaccine stock is 1,004 doses.
At the provincial level, the total first dose vaccination in West Papua has reached 56.2%, covering 448,160 vaccine recipients. The second dose vaccination has reached 37.26%, covering 297,130 vaccine recipients.
