The All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) announced the Indonesian national team squad for the second round of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers on Thursday (November 2nd, 2023).
The Indonesian national team will play against the Iraqi national team in the first match of Group F of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers at Basra International Stadium, Basra, Iraq, on November 16th, 2023.
Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, called up 27 players. Persib Bandung is the club that contributed the most players.
Three Maung Bandung players will feature for Garuda: Marc Klok, M. Edo Febriansyah, and Rachmat Irianto.
Edo will bolster the Indonesian national team's backline alongside nine others, including Jordi Amat, Elkan Baggott, Shayne Pattynama, and Sandy Walsh.
Meanwhile, Marc Klok and Rachmat Irianto will compete for midfield positions.
After Persib, Borneo FC, Dewa United, Persis Solo, Persija Jakarta, and Persikabo 1973 each contributed two players.
Shin Tae-yong also called up eight players from abroad. These include Asnawi Mangkualam (Jeonnam Dragons, South Korea) and Elkan Baggott (Ipswich Town, England).
"Ivar Jenner and Marselino Ferdinan were not called up for these two matches due to injuries," wrote PSSI on its official website, Thursday (October 2nd, 2023).
The Indonesian national team is scheduled to assemble on November 11th, 2023, and will fly to Iraq that evening.
