Based on national Covid-19 data, 164 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of Saturday, April 9, 2022, the national average was 7.21 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Padang Lawas Utara (75.18%), Barito Timur (57.97%), Simalungun (57.82%), Pangandaran (53.82%), and Sukabumi (46.06%).
Padang Lawas Utara ranks first. With a population of 293,240, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 75.18 percent. The latest positive rate is 0 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Barito Timur. With a population of 128,130, its weekly suspect testing percentage in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic is 57.97 percent. The positive rate is 25.7 percent, also lower than the previous week's ratio.
Following are Simalungun, with a population of 877,710, and a weekly suspect testing percentage of 57.82 percent; Pangandaran, with a population of 407,350, and a weekly suspect testing percentage of 53.82 percent; and Sukabumi, with a weekly suspect testing percentage of 46.06 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 106 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher daily weekly suspect testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 266 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Padang Lawas Utara, Barito Timur, and Simalungun, with percentages of 75.18 percent, 57.97 percent, and 57.82 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
