Based on data from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the Indonesian men's national volleyball team has dropped to 67th in the world and 16th in Asia.
This is due to two consecutive defeats in the crucial phase of the AVC Challenge Cup 2023. The Indonesian team lost to Thailand with a score of 2-3 on Thursday (13/7/2023).
Following this, Rivan Nulmulki and his team suffered another defeat against Australia in the fifth-place playoff with a score of 3-1 on Saturday (15/7/2023).
The loss against Thailand resulted in a 1.23-point reduction in Indonesia's total points.
As a result, the Garuda squad dropped one rank, from 66th to 67th in the world, with 42.57 points.
Japan remains at the top of the world men's national volleyball team rankings in Asia, with 315.19 points.
This is followed by Iran and Qatar with 241.05 points and 151.70 points respectively.
