Coinciding with the 2020 AFF Cup, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) recently released its latest men's rankings on Thursday, December 23, 2021. The Indonesian National Team achieved a score of 992.31, climbing two places from 166th to 164th.
FIFA stated that Indonesia had the largest point increase, gaining an additional 11.13 points. This point increase makes Indonesia the fastest-developing team in Asia.
Southeast Asian countries had the opportunity to gain points with the holding of the 2020 AFF Cup. However, within Southeast Asia, Indonesia only ranks 7th.
Indonesia's position is significantly below Vietnam, which scored 1,212.54 points. Vietnam climbed one spot to 98th, becoming the only Southeast Asian team in the top 100.
Thailand is ranked below Vietnam with 1,156.16 points at 115th place, followed by the Philippines with 1,129.91 points at 128th place.
