With the increasing rate of Omicron in Indonesia, 159 regencies/cities are currently aggressively conducting examinations, with the number of specimens examined exceeding the national average. Data as of Wednesday, June 15, 2022, shows the national average examination is 158.96 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Bandung Barat (985 specimens), Magelang (952 specimens), East Lombok (930 specimens), Temanggung (917 specimens), and Lumajang (913 specimens).
Bandung Barat is ranked first, with 985 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.49 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Magelang. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 952 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.2 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, East Lombok recorded 930 specimens examined per week; Temanggung, with a population of 784,340, recorded 917 specimens examined per week; and Lumajang recorded 913 specimens examined per week.
In anticipation of the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, 171 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 157 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include East Lombok, Tanjung Pinang City, and Pangkal Pinang City, with 930, 840, and 799 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
