Based on data from the Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force, residents of Maluku had the lowest adherence to social distancing and crowd avoidance measures. The compliance rate in that province was only 31.28% during the period of October 4-10, 2021.
This figure is significantly lower compared to other provinces. The provinces with the next lowest adherence to social distancing and crowd avoidance were West Sulawesi and South Kalimantan, with compliance scores of 68.85% and 69.06% respectively.
Furthermore, the compliance rate for social distancing and crowd avoidance in West Kalimantan and Southeast Sulawesi was 76.61% and 79.14% respectively. North Sulawesi and South Sulawesi followed with compliance rates of 80.46% and 82.59% respectively.
Nevertheless, the majority, or 17 other provinces, still had high compliance rates for social distancing and crowd avoidance, exceeding 91%. The highest compliance rate was recorded in Lampung at 98.06%, followed by Central Sulawesi at 98.01%, Bali at 97.57%, and Central Kalimantan at 96.65%.
The Covid-19 Task Force monitored compliance with social distancing and crowd avoidance measures among 8 million people across Indonesia's 33 provinces. 1.06 million points were monitored by officials, including stations, airports, offices, schools, markets, terminals, public roads, places of worship, malls, public sports venues, tourist attractions, homes, and restaurants/cafes.
Maintaining social distance and avoiding crowds is crucial in preventing the spread of Covid-19. In addition, the public must also adhere to other health protocols, such as wearing masks and washing hands with soap.
